The Neurological Alliance of Ireland (NAI) has launched a campaign calling for a dedicated consultant neurologist in 5 regional hospitals around the country, including Mayo University Hospital hospital. Full details about the campaign can be found on the dedicated website Patients Deserve Better
On Monday, April 15th, NAI held an online launch event which allowed TDs and counsillors to hear from local patients, patient organisations and clinicians on the need for a dedicated neurology service for Mayo University Hospital.
We were delighted to welcome five speakers at the Mayo launch:
- Louise Power,, a person living in Mayo with multiple sclerosis
- Doctor Marwa Elamin, Consultant Neurologist Galway University Hospital
- Dr Thomas Monaghan, Consultant Neurologist Galway University Hospital
- Jackie Keogh, Regional Community Worker with MS Ireland
- John McDonnell, a person living in rural Mayo with Parkinson's Disease
