Following a sustained campaign around the 2024 General Election, and a subsequent programme of engagement, NAI has successfully secured a number of specific commitments in the draft Programme for Government published yesterday as follows:
- Complete the national rollout of community neurorehabilitation teams
- Develop more specialist inpatient rehabilitation beds
- Implement community based multidisciplinary rehabilitation services in each RHA
- Increase the number of neurology nurse specialists
- Increase the number of consultant neurologists
The NAI will work closely with its members and other stakeholders throughout the coming months to begin to secure delivery on these commitments in 2025 and beyond. Check our news page on the website and our social media channels for regular updates on our 2025 advocacy programme.
