Neurological Alliance meet with CEO of HSE following on from Oireachtas Health Committee Meeting

Last Updated:

Representatives from the Neurological Alliance of Ireland met with CEO of the HSE Mr Bernard Gloster and senior colleagues Professor Martin Cormican and Bernard O Regan on September 4th at his invitation, following concerns raised at the Oireachtas Committee on Health around the delivery of key commitments to develop neurology and neurorehabilitation services.

Mr Gloster highlighted his commitment to the specialist neurology nursing posts and community neurorehabilitation teams funded in response to the NAI Patients Deserve Better campaigns.

NAI took the opportunity to highlight the vital importance of our member organisations as key partners in the implementation of national strategies in neurological care. We also stressed the critical threats many face to their sustainability as Section 39 providers of services to people with neurological conditions and their families.

Follow up correspondence from Mr Gloster outlined his commitment to continue to engage with NAI at both national and regional level to progress the development of services.
