The 2024 HSE national service plan, published yesterday, outlines a commitment to develop community neurorehabilitation teams in five CHO areas in 2024.
The service plan commitment represents a positive result for the NAI’s advocacy on this issue, in a campaign supported by 22 of its member organisations, which has seen investment across two successive Budgets to support the rollout of these teams in line with the National Neurorehabilitation Strategy. The plan commits to the development of teams in CHO s 1,2,4,6 and 7 in 2024.
NAI also welcomes investment in an initiative which will see intensive home care packages put in place for people with neurorehabilitative needs to reduce the number of people admitted to long term care.
